Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Checks

As your estate agent, we’re committed to making your property transaction as smooth and secure as possible.

To comply with UK Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation, we’re legally required to verify the identity of all customers, and any beneficial owners.

What to expect

As part of the process, we will request documentation from you to confirm your identity and ownership of the property, if relevant. This is similar to the process of proving your identity when opening a new bank account.

We have partnered with Credas to do this as they provide a best-in-class digital identity verification solution that has been certified against the UK Government’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework.

You will be sent a link via SMS and/or email with instructions on how to complete your check.

Credas: top tips

To ensure a smooth experience using Credas, here are some helpful tips to complete the process efficiently:

  • You can complete your identity check via the Credas app or on a web browser.
  • Have a valid, in-date government-issued document at hand (we recommend a Passport if you have one, as you’ll need to take a photograph of it).
  • Credas will ask you to take a photograph of your face to match against your identity document. Make sure you’re in a well-lit room and remove any glasses if you wear them.
  • If you do not have a valid, in-date photo ID, please get in touch with us to arrange an alternative method.
